# ThanhNien Newspaper Writing On The Right Side Of The Street About Mr. Political Deputy Christian Marchant

To say, almost all newspapers in Vietnam belong to the kind of turtle when they write news unfavorable to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.  News about Mr. Christian Marchant is a political unfavorable one.  Therefore, the incident happened at 10 AM on 1/5/2011, but the news had to wait until 07/01/2011 to be released.  It seemed earlier than usual.  News was made by this style, to wait for the approval of the high ranking communist officers, often only half the truth. Everyone knows it, half of the bread remains bread, but half the truth, is a lie.

Witnessed by hundreds of people, the important events like Mr. Marchant was wrestled to the ground, then roughed up and the car door
was repeatedly slammed on his legs, why did not mention on the ThanhNien Newspaper?

Reading the ThanhNien Newspaper, people can see this article slander that Mr. Marchant had shoved employee of Department of Foreign Affairs to the ground, and also punched in the face of a nearby civilian, while Mr. Marchant carried a briefcase in his hand.   Anyone who has lived in America knows that Americans almost never have rude behaviors such as shoving, and also punching in the face of people like that.  I have lived through over 32 years in the US, I know.  Not that I take this experience as evidence, but to understand, generally, Americans are very polite.   Also, the hooligans of the article in ThanhNien Newspaper did not mention the fact Mr. Marchant to visit father Ly.  This information is extremely important, why did the article hide this fact?  No law prohibits Mr. Marchant to visit father Ly?  According to father Ly, usually about 20 police are on duty, surrounding the house.  If Mr. Marchant wants to visit, police can prevent him away from father Ly.  That's it, nothing happens.  Accusing Mr Marchant, who shoved an employee of Foreign Affairs of Thua-Thien and punched a civilian is absolutely no grounds.  A detail is extremely absurd when the ThanhNien Newspaper wrote, "
this made many people angry and suspected this guy might be impersonating rather than a real diplomatic agent who can not act like that."  Clearly, in this sentence, the ThanhNien Newspaper has certified that Mr. Marchant had given the evidence he was a diplomat before the incident.  And later, because the act of "shove and punch" caused people think he is the imposter.  As a rule, police could not wrestle Mr. Marchant to the ground, bring him to the car then repeatedly slam the car door on Mr. Marchant leg's, making him injured.  This is a blatant violation of the Vienna Convention on the law of diplomatic immunity.  One question is concerned, why Mr. Duc Cong Dao, a Vietnamese translator accompanied with Mr. Marchant is not mentioned in the article?   Because Mr. Dao obviously is an important witness and the ThanhNien Newspaper wants to hide.  Anyone can ask Mr. Dao about Mr. Marchant who is accused to cause
disturbances as ThanhNien Newpaper's article, is it true or not?

According to Reuteur's news, when answering the press, the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phuong Nga said: "
foreign diplomats also have a responsibility to abide by the host country's laws. This answer caused many articles to criticize her that she did not understand the international laws must be above the country's laws.  Learning about that, she later mentioned the Vienna Convention, but still stubbornly use the word "respect" instead of the previous word "abide" to the laws of Vietnam, as we saw in the article in ThanhNien Newspaper.

Currently, according to Chi-Thi 37 of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, signing on 29/11/2006, banned for a private newspapers. With Chi-Thi 37,
Minister of Culture and Information Le Doan Hop has affirmed that hundreds of newspapers in Vietnam are required to take the right side of the street, where the Vietnamese Communist Party has outlined, and control. Therefore, we can affirm that there is no any newspaper in Vietnam telling the truth, this means no exceptions to the ThanhNien Newspaper.

From ThanhNien Newspaper:
An Employee of The US Embassy Causing Disturbances

07/01/2011 1:38

Yesterday 1/6, ThanhNien Newspaper informed that the authorities of Thua-Thien, Hue province is reviewing cases related to acts of disturbing public order of a diplomatic agent of the US Embassy, in Hue.

Earlier in the morning of 1/5, many people on Phan Dinh Phung street, Hue city saw a foreign man, carrying a suitcase in hand and claiming that he is a diplomat of the US Embassy in Hanoi shouting in English and Vietnamese with some very obscene words. This has made many people curious to stand and watch. An employee of Foreign Affairs of Thua-Thien, Hue, gently comforted him but this foreign man aggressively talked he was an diplomat he could   go anywhere, could meet anyone without a permission. He then pushed the employee fall to the ground, and then he punched in the face of a civilian standing nearby, pushing a number of people were watching, this made many people angry and suspected this guy might be impersonating rather than a diplomatic agent who can not act like that. But soon afterward, police presented in time and invited this foreigner said above to the Department of Foreign Affairs of Thua-Thien, Hue to work. (in Vietnam, work means investigate)

Depending on the ThanhNien's source, in the Department of Foreign Affairs of Thua-Thien, Hue, the foreign man produced card which certified him a diplomat named Christian Marchant, political officer of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi. Foreign Affairs officials explained the US laws but Mr Marchant has proved with an uncooperative attitude, then leaved voluntarily.

In yesterday afternoon of 1/6, answering questions about this incident to the press, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga - Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman said: "Vietnam always makes conditions for diplomatic commissioners and the foreign diplomatic operation in Vietnam in accordance with the provisions of international law, including the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations in 1961. Meanwhile, diplomatic commissioners and foreign diplomats are also obliged to comply with the Vienna Convention and respect the laws of host countries."

Một nhân viên Đại sứ quán Mỹ gây rối trật tự

07/01/2011 1:38
